 In a perfect world, Women's Equality Day wouldn't even be a thing. On August 26, 1920 women in America were first legally given the right to vote. Fifty years later,  Congress commemorated the day by designating August 26th as Women's Equality Day. The observance of Women’s Equality Day not only commemorates the passage of the 19th Amendment, but also calls attention to women’s continuing efforts toward full equality.
